Interview 4 panelists - Oldies. one HR, One Technical, Other two just watch HR guy just gauges personality. Technical guy asks very specific questions related to subject HR Questions Why NMDC after having experience in pvt ? Why gap in experience ? Why not other companies ? What is success for you ? Location issues ? Sports interest ? they will have standard questions, but you can take it the was you want. Technical questions Cycle time, standard time, definition, idle time etc Break even analysis, variable cost, fixed costs etc Some charts from Work system design He asked mainly from Work system design. I answered 4/5 Being mass recruitment, the technical questions are very fixed and repetitive. They wont give much chances. Either u know it or u don't. Don't try hitting around the bush. Move on. They asked very specific questions. General answers won;t do. Better prepare well.

My interview experience NTPC My panel consists of M1, M2, M3(three members only) Note : * indicates how I felt about the interview and it is the thought that was running in my mind during that time. M1 : Asked to introduce yourself and tell the projects that you did in BTech. Me : Told him about myself and the projects. M1 : Your voice is not audible tell again. Me : Sir, your voice is not clear what is it sir? after some time HR came and solved the problem Me : Told him about myself and the projects(Projects are smart home automation and phone charging using organic solar cell) * I was expecting the interviewer will ask about phone charging using organic solar cells, as it is an ECE branch project and somewhat related to power generation but he asked about smart home automation, which is completely CSE project. M2 : Said something (*I don’t even remember what he said) Me : Sir this is not how I did the project, I used raspberry Pi and MQTT protocol to control the pins using a mobile phone(*I think he misunderstood about the project ) M2 : so can you tell the architecture of raspberry pi Me : don’t know sir (*who would know about raspberry pi architecture as it is not necessary for the project and raspberry pi is like mini-computer, I am not prepared for this question) M2 : Do you know aurdino?? Me : yes sir(*My biggest mistake to answer yes) M2 : So what is the difference between Raspberry Pi and Aurdino?? Me : Sir, with raspberry Pi we can access the internet and also we can connect audio, video and it acts as mini-computer, Aurdino is very simple and in aurdino we can give analog and digital inputs but in raspberry pi, we can give only digital input/output M2 : So why is it?? Me : Don’t know sir(* It is just how it was made, how would I know why it is) M2 : Do you know about CISC and RISC?? Me : yes sir, explained about it and he stopped it in midway. M2 : Yes I got that you know about it. Asked something about it. Me : I don’t know sir, I know only basics about it, not in-depth concepts (*who would know about this I am just a BTECH grad) M2 : So do you know Digital circuits? Me : yes sir. M2 : So how to reduce 4, 8 variable boolean functions? Me : sir, using K-maps. M2 : Do you use it for 8 variables also. Me : yes, sir we can use it for 8 variables also. M2 : So did you ever apply 8 variable circuits. Me : no sir I haven’t applied 8 variable circuits. M2 : You are from IIT and how you didn’t apply any 8 variable circuits?? Me : No, sir I haven’t come across any such circuit( * WTF in IIT we study the same courses as regular BTECH grads) M2 : Do you know ____ theorem(I thought he asked Bayes theorem, but he asked boyle’s law, as his voice is not clear) Me : Told Bayes theorem in probability. M2 : I asked boyle’s law and why are you telling bayes theorem? Me : Sir, I heard it as Bayes theorem. M2 : Okay, Thanku beta(* you literally F***ked me and now you say thanku beta) After all those questions, I lost all the hope and now comes M3 (* please stop this bullying and please end this) M3 : I gave you npn and pnp transistor, how can you differentiate them?? Me : Sir, as majority carriers in npn is electrons and in pnp it is holes and electrons mobility is more than holes, we can tell by using it. M3 : So what instrument you want to measure it, I can give any instruments you want. Me : Sir as mobility is directly proportional to current, I need galvanometer, voltmeter, and voltage source to measure current. current in NPN will be more than PNP. M3 : So I gave you a PN diode and I gave 0 potential to P and -ve potential to N, so will current flow through it?? Me : Yes sir *Thank god M2 sir you are a savior. M1 : You can logout now.
