They told me they would get back with Me in 3-5 days. It ended up being three weeks. They declined me on a Friday night at Midnight. Very unprofessional company.
The interview questions were pretty standard, no surprises. There were two positions of interest to me but I applied to one position over the other since they only took internal candidates for the second position. Halfway through the interview, the HR rep started asking me questions about the position I was not interviewing for (the internal-candidate only position) and how they wouldn't hire me for the job because I was not a current Valassis employee. I also prepared several questions to ask towards the end of the interview and researched the company thoroughly to ensure I was asking intelligent questions. After almost each question the HR rep would rudely say "that's a typical question we get." The HR rep came off as passive and rude throughout the conversation. After the interview was complete I felt as if I had wasted 45 minutes of my time. I received an email a week later saying they were going to pass on me as a candidate.
