I contemplated three possibilities - 1. the mercenary response (I need the money); 2. the existentialist response (Yes, indeed? Why on earth did I apply to go to the end of the world); 3. the PC response (I want to work for an organization I respect doing a job that is both satisfying and assisting the advancement of humanity.). Of course, I chose #3.
