I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Walmart in Jul 2018
Interview
I applied online on the Walmart Careers site and applied to a few positions. I had kind of forgot about the applications because it took about 3 months before I got the email saying I had an interview. I went in about a week after this, and it ended up being a group interview. It was only me and 2 others plus an assistant manager. We all just sat together read through a scenario and had a nice chat. We also had to grab a product from the store, come back and say why we picked the product and a little bit about ourselves. Overall, I found this to be one of the easiest and funniest interviews I’ve had! We were told it wasn’t the most typical interview though as there wasn’t that many of us. Just know that the interview might not be exactly like this!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Grab any item from the store, come back and tell us a little bit about yourself and why you chose the item.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Walmart (Scarborough, ON)
Interview
I got an interview within a week. The interviewer asked everyone to “choose an item from the store that relates to you and meet back in 10-15 minutes” and “we’ll do a sell it to me kind of thing”. Very vague. There were 8 candidates in the room. We were paired up. A sheet was provided that had a situation in which a Walmart associate did terribly at his job. We had to identify the problems and then discuss what could’ve been done. Make sure you write neatly and explain well when provided a sheet. Make sure you raise your hand, speak concisely and thoughtfully. Next, we were given a sheet that said to order the importance of certain situations that were occurring simultaneously. Examples: manager is paging you for the second time, pickles jar broke on ground, child is alone, you received a text, you need to restock items in your cart. Just went through them as a big group. We were then given a sheet to write down availability. In my opinion all my answers were concise and well thought out and my availability was any day any time. I did not get position. I was emailed a couple hours later.
