I applied in-person. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Victoria's Secret (Denver, CO) in Aug 2011
Interview
I submitted my paper application in the store, got a call from a manager a few days later and was invited to interview. The interview consisted of two groups interviewed by two different managers. They asked general sales/retail questions, and everyone was given the opportunity to answer. A few days later I got a call and a job offer.

Hiring managers prioritize your personality, availability, and customer service mindset, looking for candidates who are friendly, adaptable, reliable, and comfortable engaging with customers, rather than focusing heavily on prior experience or technical skills.
Very easy, first a phone call then meeting in person. Took a while to be seen in person even after the scheduled meeting time, they had me just kind of stand in a corner for a while waiting for someone to become available.
