Not as stressful as I thought. The questions were basic interview questions. It was easy going even though it was with several managers. Each manager asked me few questions. The interview lasted about an hour.
I applied in-person. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at UCLA (Los Angeles, CA) in Jan 2022
Interview
After attending a research orientation for undergraduates, I was able to network with other graduate students/PIs after the presentation was over. I was eventually scheduled an interview with a PhD student and was asked generic questions about my research interests, the reasons on applying for this particular lab, and etc. After a day or two, the graduate student messaged me and assigned a calendar to register for future lab meetings.

Question 1
Why are you interested in joining X lab? Why are you interested in conducting research?
Not bad. It wasn’t scary but the interviewer was strange. So not sure if this is always the case. Either way kept posed and answered everything honestly. Did not get offer but not the end of the world
