I had an initial phone screening through HR, then scheduled a few phone interviews with the folks I'd be working with closest on the team. I then had to prepare a 15-20 minute technical presentation for a panel of prospective co-workers and managers. After that hurdle was cleared, I was brought on-site for a day of one-on-one interviews. Because some folks were busy at that time, I had a few more phone interviews at home.
In general, I'd say being an effective communicator and being honest about the subject areas I knew I both was and wasn't proficient in were what got me through the interview.
