It was enjoyable and really straight forward, you are kept company with the full time. When you walk in you go to reception and sit for a while and get to make a good first impression on receptionist and the people you are getting interviewed with.
Very simple & straightforward. They ask you a few question testing your ability on customer service and what your interests and hobbies are. You should also know a few facts about Santander Bank
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Santander (Glasgow, Escocia)
Interview
Online application and tests
Initial telephone interview
Face to face interview which included competency based questions, role play and numeracy test
Initially applied for a role in personal banking but this was changed last minute to business banking due to availability of training. Had no option in the matter, however not a great deal of difference between the departments other than shifts available.
Initially had interview booked for a few weeks when I got a call asking if I could come the following day instead. Interview was straight forward but not ideal if you would rather more time to prepare. Also given the wrong time on interview email however as their mistake this was not an issue and interview carried on as normal.
References and checks were not actually completed until already in post for a substantial amount of time. Didn't impact me hugely but was inconvenient as I had to contact HMRC for work history after nearly a year of employment.
Given the entry level job, it did seem like a very extensive process. Not particularly difficult, but somewhat excessive for a call centre job.
