I applied online. I interviewed at Jet (Hoboken, NJ) in Dec 2016
Interview
take about 1 month. I got a take-home exercise. and was asked to have an onsite at their headquarters. Seems they care very much about the concept, you may need to give an answer 99% similar to the textbook, even though you know what it is, how to use it. A very interesting thing is my take-home exercise is a famous NP-Hard problem, numerous research papers are written each on this topic. During the onsite, one interviewer keep using some corner cases to point out my initial solution is not optimal. I think he should be awarded the Turing award, seriously! Another interviewer asked me to write some simple code to iterate a "list", I admitted that I did not ask before coding whether it is a arraylist or linkedlist, I used a "for" loop. He seems having a big discovery: "aha, this guy does not know linkedlist", even though I said we could use iterator if we know it is a linkedlist. Later, he said "if a people does not know something, he should admit he does not", I would have my suggestion on him "you should not have an assumption people does not know, and try everything to support it.“ In another coding question, he write a function name with an argument, and asked me to implement it, after I finished, he said there should be a second argument. I would say please be serious with your interview. Overall, I am not impressed by them at all. have not got a update yet, but definitely I will pass anyway.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Jet (Hoboken, NJ) in Nov 2016
Interview
Applied online, received a phone call a few days later, received an email a few days after the phone call inviting me to the in-person interview. The in-person interview was about 3-4 hours long. I met with 4-5 people individually. Everyone was really nice and asked fair questions.
