I applied through a recruiter. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at IKEA (New York, NY) in Apr 2025
Interview
It was a great experience interviewing for the Visual Merchandising role. As someone who has worked with the company before, it felt good to reconnect and express my interest in returning. Alvin was warm, professional, and made the conversation flow naturally. I truly appreciated the opportunity.

Question 1
The one thing they asked me was: " why did you leave the company, and why do you want to come back now?"
I recently went through the interview process for a Visual Merchandiser role at IKEA, and overall, it was a positive experience.
The first round was an AI-led interview where you are given timed responses to answer pre-set questions. It takes a little time to get used to speaking to a screen, but as the interview progresses, it becomes easier to navigate. While the process was smooth, I would have preferred a conversation with a recruiter instead of an AI system, as it would have felt more natural and engaging.
Despite that, the process was well-structured, and the questions were relevant to the role. If you're preparing for this, I’d recommend practicing speaking concisely within a time limit to get comfortable with the format.
