How do you say no to a customer

I answered by another question. What am I saying "no" about? The idea is to see what or if you can alleviate a negative with a positive with a customer. Depending on what the customer is asking, it might simply be impossible to accommodate or allow what they want, but you might have enough info to offer something to make that "no" less difficult for you to say and for the customer to hear.
