I applied through college or university. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at EY (Houston, TX) in May 2013
Interview
Applied trough university career center. They emailed me for an interview a few weeks later. There was a per-interview writing assessment. Then I received an email from them about a pre-interview social. I got to meet a lot of the people from the department I was interviewing for. Had the interview along with the case study the next day. The case study was kind of tough and the questions were rapid fire but other than that the interview was essentially a conversation since I had met them the night before.
Got an email regarding a second interview/office visit which came with a two day schedule. Everything was roses. They extended offers to everyone at dinner to take the tension off for the office visit for the next morning. The partners and senior managers are pretty much trying to sell you on the firm, getting to know you, etc.
The process took 1 day. I interviewed at EY in Oct 2011
Interview
They have a 1:1 interview. Behavioral, no inherent technical's. The interview is conducted by a Director level consultant from the firm. Fairly friendly in nature. Focused primarily on my resume and asked for me to explain my experiences. They are looking for people that fit their culture more than know any specific material.
I applied through college or university. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at EY in Nov 2011
Interview
I got the initial interview through my on-campus recruiting from my university. My university had a career fair where I had talk to some of the recruiters and there were a few info sessions that I had went to.
Overall, the process was long but well worth it. EY was very approachable and replied promptly to my questions that I had whether through email or in-person.
The 1st round interview was simply behavioral questions. The partner asked me some team questions, and some questions were tailored towards my experiences that was on my resume. Expect to answer any questions relevant to what you put on your resume.
After about a week from the initial 1st round date, I got a call from my interviewer that I was selected for the 2nd round. EY also sent me emails about transportation to their office site including other logistical information.
The 2nd round was held at their office. The night before, they took interviewees out to a fancy restaurant and treated us well. Dinner was simply conversational, getting to know other staff and senior managers.
The following morning, they took us to the office to begin the all day interview process.
2nd round consists of 3 back-to-back behavioral interviews w/ partners & senior managers, a case interview, and a writing sample.
The people definitely are friendly and the work here is very team-oriented. Make sure to convey how you are a strong candidate and do well on the technical aspects of the interview (case interview & writing sample).
A few days later, the recruiter got back to me and deliver the good news.
