you will receive both. there are a lot of online evaluations you go through and then you will receive a hands on training experience. depending on the department you are hired for, your training will be more or less being walked through basic duties and then asked to try on your own. always ask questions, but never have to ask the same question twice. working for dickssporting goods is a very much a teach yourself learning experience at times.
