I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Centene (Austin, TX) in Oct 2017
Interview
Applied online, was offered an interview one month later. Received a call 30 minutes before the interview stating that it would need to be rescheduled. They did not reschedule or respond to inquiries. I met an employee who worked for this hiring manager a few days later at a PMI meeting and he told me that she cancels on people like this regularly.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Centene in Feb 2015
Interview
The recruiter was terribly unprofessional and the job description did not reflect the actual scope of the work.
Step one of the process entailed the recruiter scheduling a phone screening. During the phone screening, he indicated that travel would be less than 20%. We didn't discuss my salary expectations, but he did indicate that they could not pay $100k salary for this role.
After that, I was brought in for two group interviews and spoke with five individuals total. The interviews went well, but I was then informed that travel would be more than 40%. This was disappointing to me as I told the recruiter from the beginning that I was not willing travel more than 20%.
After the background check was completed, the recruiter initiated the salary conversation. I asked for $90k base. He recruiter send me a nasty email stating "I knew this would happen. That's why I asked your salary range early on. We cannot meet your salary requirements and your application has been declined." I replied letting him know that as a result of the substantial jump in travel, my salary expectations slightly increased, but of course he did not respond to acknowledge that this was a result of his inaccurate job description.
Lastly, it seemed to me that they were incredibly desperate to fill the role.
I'm not sure if this is common, but the recruiter would frequently call me during business hours. In fact, he called me around 10am on a Tuesday and asked if now was a good time for a 30 minute screening. He knew I worked business hours, so I though it was bit disruptive to call while I was at work. That didn't bother me initially, but after he repeatedly called during business hours with follow-up questions, I began to get frustrated. An email would be more appropriate when some is working 9-5, but apparently they were in a hurry and a bit desperate to fill the role.

Question 1
Describe someone who has been difficult to work with and how did you handle that situation?
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Centene (Columbus, OH) in Mar 2015
Interview
Two separate interviews with position specific experience based questions. A really great company and terrific people working there. I liked every person I met. After the interview, the home office contacted me and indicated they were doing a background check through a third party, who emailed me asking for my W-2's. However, my references were not contacted and a long time Passed with no updates. I got another offer which I accepted, but would have been equally thrilled to have been with Centene.
