I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at CVS Health (Northbrook, IL) in Jan 2019
Interview
A recruiter reached out to me to schedule an in person interview. I also completed a10 minute online interview. Due to the holiday season, my original interview was pushed back a couple of times. An easy case study assignment to assess written communication skills was required before the interview.
I met with 4 individuals, 2 at a time. They asked behavioral questions which I think are elementary for an Account Manager role. I was actually turned off immediately when I saw that they were reading from a sheet and not to mention that I was sweating bullets from walking quickly in high heels from the neighboring building where I needed to check in.
I was so turned off that I didn't ask all of the questions that I prepared. I am highly interested in knowing their diversity statistics at this location because from what I observed between the two adjacent buildings, there seemed to be a lack of representation with certain groups.
I'm not sure what or who they are looking for and I'm also not sold on that their questioning technique is going to help them find the right candidates.
This is my 4th interview with CVS in the last two years. Two positions I received an offer except for one was a contractor role and the other, an entry level role. The job I didn't receive an offer on was much like this where it's a mediocre passive aggressive attempt to evaluate skills and intimidate the interviewee. I've experienced pleasant interviews with CVS; however, this one was not a positive experience.
I think only a portion of the interview should be behavioral based or not used at all and the other part should be comversational. It's important to assess how a candidate can develop an organic rapport and discuss their qualifications.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Describe a time when you needed to deal with an angry client?
Very basic questions, just wanted to get to know you. Basically was handed the job they only wanted to know what experience I had and my availability. The whole process was very easy.
