Referred via a recruitment consultancy. Was told there were 2 stages, an online competency based test which was more behavioural based on different work situations on the Barclays system, which apparently they take seriously but in my opinion is just hit and miss. The assess the outcome of this and decide to progress or not. I was then called to next round which was with Principal Engineer in the team. The interview was pleasant and a general discussion on LLMops and what they were doing in Barclays and how my experience could help with expanding their GenAI capabilities.
Now, following this interview is where things went downhill and hence my negative review. There was total lack of communication from the consultancy and Barclays HR. Im not sure who was really at fault but they had already gone with another candidate who had interviewed earlier it seems which suggests I was just second choice or backup and wasted my time going through the whole process. I actually had to chase up both recrutiment consultant and their HR who barely responded to any of my questions. What's even strange is that the recruitment consultant didnt seem to have a clue on how to get in touch with anyone from their HR. Finally i got a response back after a couple of weeks saying they had already gone with another candidate.
