I applied online. I interviewed at Amazon (Bengaluru)
Interview
The pre-screening assessment includes three crucial components: a coding round to evaluate technical skills, a design round to assess problem-solving and creativity, and a manager round to gauge communication abilities and cultural fit.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Toronto, ON) in May 2024
Interview
Phone screening with recruiter, followed by a online technical assessment and then a long final interview.
Final Interview consisted of 4 1-hour interviews with 2 Engineering managers and 2 SDE-2s. 2 Leadership principle questions per interview and a total of 3 coding questions and 1 system design question. Long and grueling process that requires you to take a day off work.
If you get an offer I am sure it feels relieving as the process is drawn-out and stressful. If you don't, you feel like you wasted a lot of time as there is no feedback offered even though you spent hours talking to interviewers who write notes the entire time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
System Design: Design a google doc-type service
Coding Question: Leetcode-like questions that require you to solve problems mostly with hashmaps (think two-sum but with an object)
Watch out for questions that are not looking for exact results but coding styles as if you don't expect them you can waste a lot of time making assumptions.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Amazon (Bengaluru) in Feb 2023
Interview
It consisted of 4 rounds starting with data structures. Rest other rounds were design rounds. Last one was bar raiser with the hiring manager. There were some behavioral and leadership questions asked.
