Interview
I was called by Allstate to notify me of their interest in my resume I uploaded to their site. They felt that I had a skill set that fit the job and were interested in knowing more about information on my resume. Within a few days I received an email saying they liked our first phone conversation and wanted to have a 1 hour phone interview scheduled with the hiring manager in the department. Within a week I got that interview which lasted about 45 minutes and consisted of a thorough explanation of the job details after he gave me his employment background I I gave him mine. He asked about my experience with using Microsoft excel and any other software related to analysis. Within 3 days I was told that I am invited to an in-person interview at their headquarters with the hiring manager. I am now waiting for the interview this week.

The interview process was incredibly awful. There were three hours of interviews in one day. There was a problem to solve with little to no information on what any of the items mean. I would not recommend even going by through this process.

I was beyond excited for getting an interview for a company like Allstate, but I really felt like the interviewers failed me this time around.
When I asked for further clarification on the technical portion of the interview, they said “I don’t think I’m allowed to be anymore clear”. This lead to me not understanding the question, and taking a whole different route than what they were really asking.
I thought out loud through the whole process, and even elaborated to the interviewers on what I thought the question they asked me meant, but no one thought to correct my misunderstanding since their microphones were muted.

The interview was conducted by three senior employees that oversaw me doing a live timed technical assessment. The assessment was used to determine my technical acumen to the relevant job duties a hired product analyst would be performing.
